Scrivener and my writing process

I think I’m going to love Scrivener.

On my fourth day of using the writing program (the first two days I completed the the tutorial), I am cautiously optimistic Scrivener may streamline my writing process by allowing me to jump around in the story. Sounds counter-intuitive, doesn’t it? It isn’t. I primarily write from beginning to end, but sometimes there is a scene that jumps into my mind and I must get down before I move on. With Word or Pages, that would require either creating a new document, naming it and hoping I remembered where I saved it when I need the scene later or jumping to the point in the main document I think the scene will fit and writing it there. Needless to say, this process has resulted in numerous forgotten or lost scenes languishing on my hard drive or sticking out at the end of my first draft, unincorporated and inappropriate for the final draft.
